Paul Kodish Presents ‘Kodish Clothing’ My Vision.
I’ve always loved fashion from an early age and my parents and grandparents were always very smart and well turned out.
Back in the 70’s my grandparents were International Bridge Champions and often bought me stylish clothes back from Italy and the south of France.
I remember at school in North West London we were embracing styles by
Gabicci, Farah, Fila and Sergio Tacchini .
Later in the 70’s I embraced skateboard culture into my life and will never forget buying my first pair of red and blue Vans from Slick Willies in Kensington High St; a momentous occasion I can tell you, having anything with Alvar or Dogtown or Sims written on it was deemed cool as these brands weren't readily available in the UK back then.
Having been a drummer pretty much all my life image was always something I took seriously.
I was always impressed with flamboyance of how the Funk and Soul Musicians dressed back in the day, I just loved the style and the music of course, and that reflects in some of my logos and designs.
Later on I became immersed in London’s Drum n Bass scene where the styles kind of embraced skate and funk fashion combined with nice fitting jackets, cool logos, nice hats, funky glasses and limited edition trainers (sneakers) and a bit of chunky jewelry thrown in.
Colours generally were on the dark side that in a way represented the music, and this was where I discovered my style suited dark colours. I’m sure a few of the more colourful characters in the scene will have something to say about this
I’m very meticulous when buying clothes. I like good fits, good details, buttons, hats, cool logos, though I’m not a procrastinator in front of the mirror. I know instantly if I like a look or not.
Starting Kodish clothing has subconsciously been in the making
for years now. I really wanted to create a clothing company which represented my life
influences.
Fashion is important to everyone, I believe what we wear is a reflection of what we think and feel.
I’m very conscious about sourcing good quality threads and materials that come from a good ethical background the best I can, as i believe the good energy from the source materializes into the feel good factor of the clothing .
Hemp and bamboo are something i will be implementing into all my clothing in the not so distant future.
As well as a range of Recycled materials like plastic .
Recyclable packaging is something I’m working on and very serious about .
Designs will be added on a regular basis, if there is something you would like to see please let me know. Simplicity is key but let’s see how this evolves.
I give wholehearted gratitude and thanks to my old friend and talented Designer/Musician/Producer Seb Duncan for designing ‘The K Logo.’
And finally to my mentor and arse kicker; the beautifully inspirational Natalia Kantor I love u.
